Tiger Safari Birding Tour

India, the land of the biggest cat in the country, is also home to over 1300 species of birds. A beautiful mix of mammalian life and avifauna, Corbett, Bharatpur and Bandhavgarh give you the perfect opportunity to sight these species.

The most diverse birding area, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, also officially called the Keoladeo National Park, has around 350 species of beautiful birds chirping around. Colorfully frolicking through the sanctuary, these birds are not the only residents. There are a number of winter migratory birds that make their way to Bharatpur.

Talking of beautiful wildlife, Corbett is no less. In fact, it is one of the best parks in India when it comes to wildlife and landscape. With the Ramganga flowing through and through the jungle and the scenic view of the Himalayan Foothills, Corbett has an abundance to offer, if only you’re patient enough to take it all in. Another advantage that Corbett has is its Dhikala Zone and the Dhikala Forest Rest House. It lies deep in the lap of Terai wilderness, with alarm calls and roars as a background score.

Bandhavgarh, the land of the Rewa Maharaja, is home to wonderful and mighty tigers. They are present in abundance and appear to ensure that your safaris are always fruitful. The map of the jungle and the layout of the routes is so intrinsically planned, that each route will ensure you sight the Tiger, one way or another. The Tala zone in Bandhavgarh is going to take you back in time. As the Fortress canopies the jungle, you’re engulfed in its magical past. The history behind this park is quite mythological, dating back to the 5th century. Ramayana, Narad Panch Ratra and Shiv Puran, books synonymous with Indian mythology, have all explicitly mentioned Bandhavgarh in their story line.

Apart from the Tiger, Bandhavgarh is also home to a variety of avifauna, one of the common ones being the State bird of Madhya Pradesh, the pristine Asian Paradise Fly Catcher.

This tour thus has a little something for everyone- history, art and wildlife. Gandhi once said “You can gauge the morality of a nation by the way it treats its animals”. Come down to India, and experience the magic happen yourself.
